I have been teaching the cello and coaching chamber music to students of all ages and levels for 20 years. I currently teach one day a week at Lady Eleanor Holles School for Girls (LEH) alongside private pupils at my home in North London.

I believe that learning an instrument is something that should be accessible to as many as possible and that it can bring huge joy to people's lives. I aim to keep a balance of learning being fun, whilst also emphasising the importance of good technique as I believe that ultimately, these two elements go hand in hand. If a student is able to make a beautiful sound and play difficult and exciting pieces with ease, then they are much more likely to enjoy playing their instrument. Plus, playing well opens up opportunities for playing with other people in small groups and orchestras and this has always been the most fun part of music making for me.
